yay! the show at cornell was lots of fun. xiu xiu are very nice people. so are all the awesome cornell kids i got to meet! this picture (click to see full size) and one of the new ones over in the images section were taken by j perelmuter, who coincidentally was our first black molly drummer (you can see old school pictures such as this one over at the old black molly site). wow! also, hear mp3s from the show over in the sounds section! how about that! Check out this poster!!!!! Josh pointed me to the fanclub collective website, where I snagged the image off of their message board. It was made by Daniel Knapp. And check out how I'm billed. I don't know why on earth they put Josh on before me. Maybe they think I'm mysterious. In any case, how super exciting to be playing a show for lots of people I don't know. I haven't done that since freshman year of college, unless you count the open mic Josh and I did in Madison last summer. But, feel free to come on up to Ithaca if you like. (03.12.04, 06:11 P EST) |
a good show tonight at bar matchless! a fun place to play. thanks danny kelly for setting up the show. john kessel and jim and lydia played also. they are all quite good. miss anneth had a sore throat but was able to sing on three songs. josh and i did a duet cover of a lois maffeo/greg moore song. and casey played on two old songs and one new one. fun!!!!! check out our new (in-progress) bitches bio and a funny picture of me and ann. <--- this flyer (for our next show!) was made by casey holford. josh is actually playing after genan, not the other way around. Love, This is not pornography, it's a show. The Dream Bitches will be opening up the 2004 Winter Antifolk Festival with a half hour of ROCK! The Misses Yoko Kikuchi and Ann Zakaluk, the Dream Bitchin' frontwomen, will be dressed to impress and their vocal stylings will not leave you disappointed. Also playing as Dream Bitches at some point during this half-hour, our part-time cohorts: Mr. Josh Ian Malamy (who will be opening for Xiu Xiu at Cornell University in March), Mr. Casey Holford (also playing the festival later in the week!) and Ms. Nan-Ling Turner (of the ensembles known as Pantsuit and Schwervon!) As you can tell already this is going to be an action packed start to a rock infused Festival. Also playing the same night: Barry Bliss, Prewar Yardsale, JAYMAY, John S Hall, Schwervon!, Rav Shmuel, and Phoebe Kreutz. This Saturday, February 21st at 7:30 PM at the Sidewalk Café, which is on 6th Street and Avenue A. (Take F to 2nd Ave, L to 1st, whatever.) Sincerely, Yoko (Lead Bitch #01) |

happy december! ahh, city snow.
the luv-a-lot cd party was a ton of fun. i spent my last $3 in nickels, quarters and pennies on a beer and a pack of gum. my work party was cancelled because of the snow and so i got to spend lots of time at danny and karen's wonderful place. it was a cozy show in a snowed-in wintertime alcove. whee!
a new show! thanks to miss nan for scheduling it: jan 16th at 7 pm, with pantsuit and kansas state flower at the parkside lounge! i can't friggin wait. there WILL be special guests.
loooove.
