* * * * * * * * * * new recordings in the sounds section! two from last november, two from this march. the one called 'song writing' is going to be featured in jordan cooper's short film. i don't know what the film is called. but it is very exciting. [04.23.03 / 04:11 P EDT] * * * * * * * * * * home for the break-ation. not much going on this week in new york for me, besides the dismantling of my high school bedroom. also i caught nan and matt (schwervon!) at meow mix last night, and i'm gonna see them again on thursday at galapagos! wheeee! the coffeehouse at school on thursday night was pretty awesome. we had some visiting artists: andy friedman, paul curreri, and brady earnhart. they are from brooklyn. check them out at city salvage records. maybe i'll see you around soon. [03.16.03 / 12:44 A EST] * * * * * * * * * * the snow show fiasco! here's the short version: nan arrived as planned on thursday. we promoted our show at my school's 70s dance party! friday was spent getting equipment together and practicing in my room and in the basement. it didn't even faze (phase?) me that there was two feet of snow piling up outside and maybe i should call the venue. at 4:00 john (of the yummycakes) showed up and informed us that he'd gone to drop off our PA, and the guy who owns the place had cancelled our show and was closing early due to the snow. i said, WHAT!!!!!!! luckily, after a few negotiations, we managed to procure 301 cabot gallery, my school's senior gallery space. the show began only forty-five minutes behind schedule. and it was awesome!!!!! no one has ever had a music event there before. it was a really nice place to play! thanks to everyone who helped out, especially nell, anders, nan, john and brandon. love, yoko. ps... check out the new VIDEO section!!!!!! there are two songs, recorded live at the sidewalk café last august. wheee! i am in love with the internet, did you know? [02.09.03 / 02:18 P EST] * * * * * * * * * * new show! at the northern grind coffeehouse, here in beverly. with nan turner! and john gambino, aka the yummy cakes! i've wanted to play a show at that place since i was a freshman. if you are in or around boston you should come on up. nan is chinatown-expressing it all the way from new york! and the northern grind has excellent coffee. so it's a good deal all around. oh yeah, the show is NEXT FRIDAY, february 7th, from 5:30 - 8:00 pm! early! yay!
